As far as preservation tactics go, this story of endangered black rhinos being airlifted by the World Wildlife Fund to a new conservation site takes the tops. Due to poaching and a lack of proper conservation, an increasing amount of African rhino species are being declared endangered and some are becoming extinct. Recently the Western black rhinos were declared extinct, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) fears that many other African rhino species are headed for the same fate. In this astounding attempt at saving a species, the rhinos were each flown by helicopter to a protected conservation site.
